Wolves Esports x Veygo

To generate brand awareness in the gaming space, myself and the head of brand at Veygo partnered up with Wolves Esports to host a tournament on their Twitch platform.

As an added bonus Esports has been an area I have been interested in for a long time and as such allowed me to take the lead and get into the mindset of the viewer and come up with a clear video describing one of the many uses of the product.

The challenge

Creating the vIDEO

From the initial concept to the finished product, it took 1 week and allowed me to have full creative freedom. Although initially we had been told we would have up to 60 seconds for the video this was later changed to 20 seconds which meant we needed to get the message to be quick, clear, and impactful.

The concept was simple:

You’re watching the e-sports - Want to meet a friend - You get insured - You go!

The idea was to highlight how easy it is to get on the road and meet your friends and also showcase how all this can be achieved while watching the e-sports event.

The results

The livestream event generated 117k views and 88k visitors and played the video at set times throughout the stream as well as including relevant ad reads. This project also gave a good opportunity to build on this in the future, with plans to create full landing pages geared towards this audience as well as sponsoring bigger events or individual content creators.

Final thoughts

Overall the project felt like a success. We got the message we wanted out there even after the Wolves team had informed us we needed to cut our video down by 40 seconds. This project also started my love for videography and video editing and led me to get my own camera equipment and later my Shots_by_patrick YouTube channel.

If I was to do this project again I would focus more on making the shots as impactful as possible but at the time I remembered feeling that these were the best shots I could come up with in a limited timeframe and with limited knowledge of videography.
